COMPARATIVES AND SUPERLATIVES PART I

This post will be focused on the comparatives and superlatives. This is the first part where some theory will be explained. 


WHEN DO WE USE COMPARATIVES AND SUPERLATIVES?

SUPERLATIVES
We use comparatives to compare two things.
We use superlatives to say a characteristic of a thing/person/animal…
Eva is taller than Pedro.
Eva is the tallest.














HOW TO CREATE COMPARATIVES

ONE SILLABLE/UNA SÍLABA
+ -ER THAN
Lis is TALLER THAN Tom
María is NICER THAN Lucas
Elephants are BIGGER THAN lions. (CVC+C)
TWO SYLLABLES ENDING IN -Y/ DOS SÍLABAS TERMINADAS EN -Y
+-IER THAN
Monkeys are HAPPIER THAN dolphins. (HAPPY-> HAPPIER)
TWO OR MORE SYLLABLES/ DOS O MÁS SÍLABAS
MORE+ ADJECTIVE+THAN
Lions are MORE DANGEROUS THAN giraffes.
